Happy Birthday America

This year the fourth was so much fun. This time last year we had just found out we were pregnant. This year we had our little love. We went to the lake to enjoy the festivities. We started it off the evening before with a sunset cruise Captained by Uncle Patchy. The next day the whole family headed up to the lake for a day of fun in the sun and lots of food. We all ate and ate and ate then went for a swim. Unfortunately mother nature wanted us to take a break from all the fun and blew in a little storm. Thankfully it was short lived. Just long enough for Keegan to take a little nap and be ready for more! After the storm blew over we went for a nice long boat ride. There is nothing better than a long pontoon ride for a nice sumer time treat. After our  boat ride it was time to head back in and get ready to head to Birmingham for the fire works. My sweet cousin allowed us to come to her house so we could just walk up the road to watch them. Keegan was in absolute amazement. I had wondered what he would think of them, if they may scare him or if he would even care. Well, we were far enough away that they were not too loud and he just watched in amazement. It was so fun to watch. I love to see him experience things for the first time.

Chi Town with little love...

Keegan went on his first air plane trip to Chicago. I was worked up over him on an airplane and of course he was a little rockstar! Even with our less than ideal travel. We had lots of delays, but after a very late night we made it to the  hotel. The next morning we woke up to big family breakfast. We were in town for a wedding so there were lots of Keeley's, some I had not even met. They were also very excited to see the newest Keeley! It was fun to meet everyone and introduce them to our sweet baby boy! The wedding was beautiful and the reception was wonderful with yummy food. Unfortunately, Keegan was done. After a late night the night before he was ready to head back to the hotel and get some rest.

The next day we headed over to Sean's Aunt and Uncles for brunch. They had 6 dozen doughnuts! They were so yummy. Keegan enjoyed getting passed around and loved on by all the relatives.

Or time went to quickly and it was time for Sean's parents to drive us into the city where we would be staying the night to explore. We said our goodbyes and headed out to the Navy Pier. We had fun walking up and down looking at all the sights. We wanted to take Keegan in the fairs wheel he was getting a little fussy but we decided to go anyways. We stood in line and right before you get on they take your picture. Keegan stopped fussing long enough for us to have picture taken then went fast asleep for the rest of the ride. Oh well, we know he was there and have pictures to show him later! After that we headed back to the hotel to rest and get ready for dinner. We walked to the bean and on our way there Keegan went to sleep yet again missing another one of the attractions. We are such boring people we went to the same restaurant that we went to two years ago when we were there. It was still good Sean and I are just boring. One the walk back Keegan was in absolute amazement. All the lights and sounds he could not stop looking around. It was so much fun to see him expensive it all for the first time. The next day we wanted to do a architectural tour on the river. We walked over and got on board.  He started fussing and we thought oh no should we get off? We decided he would be fine and stayed on. Good thing because he went fast asleep. Sleeping through yet again attraction! It was beautiful. Chicago is such a beautiful city with the water and all the different types of buildings. Once we were done we headed back to the hotel to pack and order some deep dish Chicago style pizza, yummy! Then it was time to head home. It was such a great trip and made wonderful memories!

4 month old Keegan

I know he is mine but please look how adorable this little man is! He is such a joy.
So, it has been a while since I have updated and lots has happened. We have been on two air plane trips and one road trip. Keegan turned 4 months, is rolling over, has found his toes, wants to sit up very bad, and is trying to crawl! I can't believe all that he is doing. I miss the baby stage but he is so much fun now and it just gets better every day.  Oh he also will belly laugh! It is the greatest noise in the entire world! He has been making such fun talking noises. He is such a joy! I am going to try to get caught up on all that we have done so I don't forget anything! Until then I leave you with this little guy!

Keegan turns 3 months

I know I continue to say it but where does the time go. Keegan turned three months old on Tuesday and I can not believe it. He is changing so fast. His ohhhs and choos now make whole sentences and he is just a happy baby. He is pretty much always happy unless he is getting sleepy or we try to put him in his car seat. This new trick of HATING his car seat is not a fun stage. We have no idea why he is so against to ridding in his car seat. He is fine if you are carrying him in it but as soon as you stop moving or put him in the car he loses his mind. Needless to say car rides right now are not so fun. We have tried everything toys, songs, me sitting back there with him, Sean sitting back there, we even went as far to buy a new car seat. So far no luck. Hopefully it will pass. Here are some photos I took of him and his big boy self!

It's Your Birthday

Happy Birthday to the most wonderful man in the world! I am so glad that God decided to put you on this  Earth 27 years ago. You are my other half, my better half. I have enjoyed ever year that we have spent together and I am so happy that we get to spend the rest of out lives together. Our family was perfect when it was just you and I, but now that we have added Keegan to the mix it has only gotten better. You are an amazing dad and you just blow me away with your capacity to love and do all that you do for both of us. You are such a great provider. We sure do miss you when you are gone because you are such a crucial part of us. It is so nice to have our whole family here under one roof. Keegan loves you so much he lights up when you sees your face and hears your voice. I hope he follows in his Daddy's footsteps and becomes the kind of man that you are today. I hope that you have the best birthday ever. I am so blessed to be able to share your day with you. I hope it is all you hoped it would be. We love you! Happy Birthday!

Mother's Day

I am so blessed to be Keegan's mom. He is the best thing that has every happened to me and I love him more than words could even express. I have always know that I wanted to be a mom but I never knew how much I would love it. I am so fortunate to be able to stay home with him and enjoy him all the time. Now do not get me wrong, sometimes it is hard and I get tired and cranky just like he does, but then he smiles with his whole body and my heart melts. I am blessed to have such a sweet angel.

Just as I am lucky to be a mom I am l blessed to have to best mom. She is my best friend and I am able to go to her with all of my problems. We have always been close sometimes we may not see eye to eye but we are always close. She has been such a tremendous help with Keegan. She loves him so much and loves to spoil him rotten just what grandmuthers do!

Look at me

Sorry for the terrible photos but I am just so proud I had to share! Just last week I decided to pull out the Bumbo seat. When we first put him in it he still needed help controlling his head, but what a difference a week makes. He has gone in his chair several times this week and has done great! It is still hard work and he tuckers out in short periods but he is rockin' it out like a champ! We even did tummy time before putting him in the chair so he had been working hard. This was one of the first times I had put him on his tummy and he didn't scream. We are making progress all over the place. Before when I put him in his tummy he would just cry and roll over. Today he played and looked at himself in his mirror and we read a book, then fussed and rolled over. It's progress!

Beautiful Baby Boy

Baby, Beach, and Birthdays

This past weekend we went on a much needed trip to the beach! We had so much fun and Keegan was absolutely wonderful! I am so glad that he likes the beach because we make several trips a year there. We drove down Wednesday and we only had to stop twice and one time we all needed to stop as well. When we got to the beach it was raining so we hung out inside for a while. By evening the sun came out and it was a beautiful sunset so we headed to the beach for Keegan's first time. He was a little fussy but who can blame him. He had been in the car all day. He finally settled down and went to sleep.

Day two at the beach started early. Funny how things change so much with a baby. Keegan got lathered up and we headed to the beach. We set up camp and let Keegan get in the water a little. After all that excitement he went down for a three plus hour nap. It was such a beautiful day. It was also my birthday. There is nothing better than a day on the beach with your family to make for the perfect birthday. Once Keegan woke up we "played" in the water a little more then Keegan was done with the beach so we headed back to the house. Later on in the afternoon Keegan was ready for round two of his nap so he and Grandmuther snuggled up and took a nap while the rest of us went back to the beach. It was such a relaxing day. We finished off the day by heading to The Back Porch for some yummy dinner.

More to come later!

Keegan room 3

Friday we went for Keegan's two month check up. He is looking great and is huge as we already knew. He is weighing in at a whopping 13 pound 12 ounces. Then his head circumstance is 16 1/8. Then his length was where he really shined, he was 25 1/2 inches long!! No wondering he is already wearing a lot of 6 months clothes. Doctor Bill has a student with him right now and she was charting his measurements and Sean jokingly asked if he was if he was off the charts. He was, she was stunned and said I am new let me make sure this is right. It was he was over the 100th percentile. His weight was on the high average side and his head circumference was in the very high percentile. Then we had shots. He took them like the little rockstar that he is! They were terrible for mommy but he only cried a little. I was also really worried about what the rest of our day would be like since sometimes they cause irritability. He was once again amazing and was only a tinny bit more fussy than normal so mommy gave him lots and lots of extra love and snuggle time. He took a two and half hour nap on my chest and it was heavenly. There were things to be done but I just sat and enjoyed my beautiful boy. I love being a mommy.

Waiting for Doctor Bill to come in and check us.

Early morning snuggle

Is there anything better than a Saturday morning snuggle session? I think not. This morning we all woke up around 7:30, after Keegan ate we all just snuggled back in for some Saturday snuggle. We all talked and enjoyed the ability to have a slow start to our busy weekend. Keegan is so "talkative" in the morning time and it makes not sleeping in so much better. When you hear those sweet ohhh's and chooo's it makes my heart melt and I could stay up and listen to him talk forever. After a while the boys went back to sleep cuddling and I got out my new computer to play with. My fabo hubs gave me my birthday present early so I could go ahead and have it. It was a new MacBook! I have had my old Mac for about 5 or 6 years and it was done. It would still work, it was just as slow as Christmas, but how can you complain after having it that long. Now that Keegan is here I am constantly taking photos and trying to learn how to really take photos as well as doing a little bit of editing to them. I needed something that could hold lots of pictures and not take an hour to turn on.

Some of the great faces we get to see early in the morning!
cuddling with his daddy, ignore all the burp clothes he spits up a lot

Even Chloe too part in the family cuddle time after sleeping under the bed all night.

How did that happen...

I have a two month old. It's seems crazy that he is already two whole months old! Then it also seems like we have had him forever. I already can not imagine life without him. He consumes me. I love him more than I could ever imagine. I thought I would make a list of some of Keegan's favorite things right now: his paci which we affectionally call "puppy", his skip hot mirror, his changing pad (oddly enough he could lay there for hours talking and playing), his little giraffe blanket and the story "I Love You Through and Through".

These are some photos from our little photo session. It's hard to take photos of a two month old by yourself. He is so cute anything would be cute, but I may be a little biased.

We are headed to the doctor tomorrow for the dreaded two month apoitment where he will be getting shots. Hopefully it will not be as bad as what I am imagining.

Should I?

I am thinking of coming back to the blogging world. My life has totally changed since the last time I was here. I am now a mommy to the most beautiful baby boy that you have ever seen, as well as a stay at home mommy. I am loving every minute of it. Yes, it is hard at times but I would not trade it for a minute. It does not get better than him sleeping on my chest as I write this. If someone would have told me that being a stay at home mom was going to be harder than being a special needs preschool teacher to 15 children I would have laughed. Oh how I was wrong this is more than a full time job, you put in more than 40 hours a week you have to be on 24 hours a day. It is long days but the most rewarding thing I could ever imagine. Being a mommy is my calling from God. I want to be the best mommy I can be for him. So I am going to start the chronicles of his life. There will be lots of pictures of my beautiful baby boy as well as my path to trying to get back in shape and juggling life as a new mom. I am having fun and laughing at myself as I try to manage to do it all. I want to be super mom but sometimes even super mom has a messy house, because when all Keegan wants to do is cuddle and sleep in my arms that okay with me because the dirty house will wait but these are the moments I live for. So here goes, I am entering the world of a mom who blogs things should be interesting. I will leave you with a picture of my baby burrito from last night. Enjoy
