Come august...

Lots of changes are taking place in my life right now. First off I'm going to be going to a new classroom in August. I am beyond excited. I can't wait to see what's in store. I feel like myself and the other teacher will work well together and can be a team. I think that's the best for everyone when you are a team. I'm ready to really see what I can do. It is not the position I was hoping for come august but I am happy with it now.
I have also been contemplating go back to school. I know it's in my plans it's just a matter of when. I want to learn more about my field just not sure when to make it happen. I would also love to one day go to a school system so when we have kids I could have their same vacations. I hope God shows me the way soon.

Life

Life has gotten in the way of the blog. Everything has been going well, not hitting the gym as much. I have also be out of town so much I spend my weeks recovering from my weekends. Kind of backwards.
This past weekend I had the pleasure of celebrating with a good friend Laura at the beach for her bachelorette party. We had a blast but I did not bring my camera so I have no pictures from the weekend. The weather was perfect could not have asked for better. It was a good time with lots of girls to let our hair down.
This weekend we are headed up to my dads on the lake to have some forth of July fun! I can't wait for another long weekend. I am ready to grill out and enjoy the sun with a good book.
More to come soon!

New York Day 1

Day One:We wanted to get in a full day of New York even though we would be traveling so we had a 6 am flight. Wow that was early so that means a 3:45 wake up call. When we made it to the airport security line was terrible, never the case in Birmingham. We stood through the line and as we were getting close to the front I realize like an idiot I do not have my id. I never take it out because I never use it but the week before I had used a small change purse for a few days in place of my wallet. I call my oh so fabulous Lovie and tell him to fly like the wind to bring me my id. Thankfully the TSA guy told me I could stand on the side and wait for Sean and then hop in the front of the line as to not miss my flight. I did make it, I was the last to board but I made it! We had a direct flight so it was nice and I took a little nap to get ready for our big day.

When we arrived we caught a cab into down town. We were able to check in early which was great! We settled into our room and needed breakfast immediately.
Our first adventure out was to the Statue of Liberty. We managed the subway down and waited and waited for the ferry to take us out. There were so many people I could not believe. It was such a beautiful day. I had been to the Statue of Liberty before a long time ago but it was my moms first time. We were not able to go up in the statue because you have to make reservations over a month in advance, we did not. It was still fun to head out there see her. We ate lunch at a little our door cafe and walked around and enjoyed the sights. As we were walking around I was getting very sleepy and was afraid I would not make it through the day but I made it with a little help from some caffeine. I have given up caffeine so it was a big deal.

After we got back to dry land we decided we would walk over to ground zero. Well this turned into quite the adventure. We made it over there without any problems and walked all around but there was not too much to see now that things are being rebuilt. There are fences around everything. It is surreal to be there even still. I was there when I was younger and did not appreciate for what it was and I have been back now in every stage. From the hole in the ground to now rebuilding it's crazy how it has changed everything.

The trip back took a little while. We did not really not know what line to take back to our hotel. We made it after a long walking detour back to our place. We were able to see lots of good sights but my moms feet were hurting so bad that she didn't care what we walked past.

Once we finally made it back to our hotel my friend Josh met us there and we had a glass of wine and a surprise chocolate cake and strawberries for my mom's birthday! Then we went to dinner and this yummy Mexican place. It was so nice to get to catch up with Josh. We walked to Bryant Park after dinner and explored more of the city. Then back to the hotel to talk and go to bed after a long day.
